Tonight, I have read several blogs, not about events and pictures and going ons, but blogs about thoughts and feelings. And I have been compelled to share my thoughts for the week. WARNING, you may not care about any of this babbling!
I have been thinking lately that I am a jealous person. I read blogs about the fun vacations and the new toys and all these fun parties and amazing lifestyles. I know this is lame, but I get a little jealous. I was talking with my mom about it on the phone the other day and she said, "Always remember that if you are not happy without it, you will not be happy with it". It hit me that it has nothing to do with me being jealous, and everything to do with me having a bad attitude. I need to be happy with what has been dealt me. Example, I really struggled this past year in my classroom. My class was hard for me, and for some reason, my solution was to complain. Well, the year is over, and and looking back it was not my favorite year as far as my career goes. I know that has everything to do with my attitude. I feel like I have lost what could have been an amazing year as a teacher. I promise, no wait... I VOW this will not happen again! Lucky for me I have a job that I get to start anew every year, and my goal this year is to be happy with it. I don't know if anyone out there cares about any of this, but I want to apply this in all aspects of life, not just teaching. I may not have everything I want. I may not get to go all the places I want to and travel the world. I do not get paid as much as I would like. But I am happy, and that is all that matters! Having a good attitude can and will make all the difference in my life. (I always feel like I should say amen after blogs like this!)

Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name...
So, nothing much has been happening for Chad and I. I just finished my monotonous master's classes for the summer, and Chad is taking his last final tomorrow. We both need a break and are ready for our summer to FINALLY start! As for the past few weeks, we have done what we can to survive. One thing we do to keep ourselves entertained is a lot of T.V. That may puzzle you because, we don't have cable and only get a few channels with our bunny ears. To remedy this problem, we have started to buy TV series, our favorite is "How I Met Your Mother".

Honestly, it is one of the funniest shows I have ever watched! We flew threw seasons 1,2 and 3 and are now just waiting for season 4 to come out. We have watched most of the episodes at least twice! (I know, a little obsessive!) Our favorite character is Barney because he gives some of the best lines! You will find them all throughout our blog such as "Legendary", and "Suit Up". We are on a quest to find some "How I Met Your Mother" friends who want to watch with us, so if you are interested, give us a call!
Because we have almost a year until season 4 comes out, we had to start a new series. We decided to start watching...

There are 3 reasons we chose this series:
1. There is a "How I Met Your Mother" episode that refers to Cheers and even plays the theme song. (Go ahead and start singing it, it will be in your head all day!)
2. There are 11 seasons, so that should keep us entertained for a while.
3. Season 1 was only like $15.
If you would like to be our "Cheers" friends and come watch with us, give us a call!
p.s. I have been trying for days now to figure out how to post youtube clips so we could share our favorite How I Met Your Mother moments with you, but I am blog-retarded and can't figure it out. If your know how please tell me!

Camp Suit Up!
This past weekend, Chad and I put on our campin pants went on our first camping trip with Adam and Camarie. It was only a one night trip, but it was an eventful one! We packed all our stuff onto a couple 4 wheelers and headed up to our spot. I was so excited to set up our new tent and roll out the sleeping bags! Then next morning we went on a hike. In the beginning I asked Adam where we were going. He pointed to the top of the mountain and said "there". I just went along with it. But he was serious. We climbed to the TOP of the mountain! It took forever! I kept thinking of the song "Just around the river bend..." cause the boys kept trying to encourage us saying "It is just over this ledge". Thanks boys for putting up with us whiny girls!

The coolest thing... we saw a moose! It was just walking up the stream and was honestly about 20 yards away! I have never been that close to a moose before.

After our trip we went back to Adam's house and decided to jump in the pool. After putting my swimming suit on, I noticed a tick crawling around on my shirt which was folded up on the floor. I just about died! Then to top it off, we saw one crawing around on Chad's shirt! We checked, but lets just hope neither of us gets lyme disease.
After a long day, we were both exhausted! We came home, washed our tick invested clothes, and crashed. I fell asleep on the couch at like 7:00. Long day, but a good one!

4-Wheeling
This past weekend, our good friends Adam and Camarie invited us on a 4-wheeling trip. We went up American Fork Canyon, and it was beautiful. As Chad and I got on the wheeler and headed up, he reminded me of all the good times we have had 4-wheeling. It is almost like a tradition for us. Chad took me 4-wheeling on our first date. (We had our 1 year anniversary of our first date in April. Wow!) The first weekend Chad spent at my house, my dad took us 4-wheeling. Then there was the time we almost died on the 4-wheeler, twice. We took a fun trip with some friends to Star Valley and did some 4-wheeling up there. And then when we got engaged.... yes, it was on a 4-wheeler ride. I think one of the reasons we love it so much is because we just go our own speed, look around, chit chat, enjoy each other's company, and the company of our friends. I also have to thank parents and friends who sponsor all of these 4-wheeling escapades...namely Adam!
Funny story... during this last trip, Chad and I were, as we usually are, taking our sweet time, going kind of slow. I was driving the 4-wheeler at the time. I could hear someone coming up behind us on another 4-wheeler. I started to slow down and pull off to the side so he could pass us. He freakin FLEW past us, and right through a puddle. You know in cartoons or movies when a jerk car splashes water all over some pedestrian...that is just what happen to us. I just sat there with my jaw dropped, soaked, water dripping down my face, as he just kept going! If I ever see him again I will give him a piece of my mind!

This is a picture of us after the splash!

Wholy Crap I am 24!
Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday last week. It was such a fun birthday weekend! Chad brought a dozen roses to me at school on Friday. Then when I got home, he had taped a single rose and a card to the front door. The card explained that he had placed 12 roses around the house with a "I love you because..." note on each one. Each rose also had a gift with it. I almost melted when I read each one. Isn't he the cutest! Thanks Chad for taking the time to make my birthday special! On Saturday Chad took me to lunch and shopping at the Buckle; he had given me gift cards with some of the roses. Later that night Nikki and Blake joined us for some nickel-cade fun! I love that place cause it is like the cheapest date ever! Then on Sunday, my parents invited us to Gunnison for dinner with my grandparents, Cami, and Connor. Thanks to everyone who made not only May 2nd special, but the entire weekend. I got so many cards and facebook messages and text messages (including Nona's text @5:30 am!) and phone calls. I am so blessed to have so many friends and family who care. Thanks! I would also like to wish Sam a Happy Birthday on May 1st. She is an awsome sister-in-law and I am so glad to have her in our family. Also a Happy Anniversary shout out to Kelsey and Brian Bulow and also Jody and Tyler King. May 2nd rules!
Here are all the gorgeous birthday roses from Chad and the yellow one was from Cami. I know roses are kind of senseless cause they die in a few days...but I still love them!

Lights, Camera, Action.....
So...I am going to make a commercial. This story begins a few weeks ago when my principal was at a workshop in New Orleans. His booth was next to a Provo Craft booth promoting a "Cricut in the Classroom" project. My principal volunteered to have our school help in their promotion. When he came back to school, he asked me if I would help, and because you don't say no to your principal, I agreed. I met with a team from Provo Craft today and they were telling me all the free paper, vinyl, cricut fonts and classroom supplies they were going to give me. My eyes were wide and I was so excited! One of my favorite parts about teaching is decorating my room! They looked around my room at the things I had already done with my cricut machine and started telling me all the things and project ideas they had. I wanted to jump up and down I was so excited! Then they started talking about their promotion video, and my stomach kind of sunk and my fingers started to shake! They will be coming into my room to video me and my kids working on a project together. They will also be shooting a short narrative piece where I am basically talking about how I use the cricut in my classroom. Not going to lie, I am nervous about that. I got even more nervous when the editor started to talk about the video promotion being posted on the internet and available in their store! I am really nervous/excited about it. They are coming to film in a couple weeks, so I will let you know how it goes!

Easter Weekend
We had such a fun easter weekend. Chad's weekend started Friday morning as he went golfing with his dad, grandpa and others in the Barton family. He complained of being tired and sore after walking 18 holes, but I know he loved every minute of it! Later that night we got together for a dinner at Aunt Lisa's. We had fun chatting and catching up with everyone.
Saturday morning we headed down to Gunnison for the Dyreng Easter festivities. It was a rainy day, but that did not get us down. We relocated the picnic to Grandma's backyard and waited for the sun to come out to go roll eggs. This is a Dyreng tradition that I thought was normal. Apparently it is not! Our family finds a hill, digs a little trail, and rolls our eggs down. Eventually the eggs break, and we just end up throwing them at each other! The best part is that I actually have pictures and not silly clip art pictures!

I came outside to find Canyen and Chad, and where else would he be, but up a tree!

Even Chad got into the egg rolling fun!

Payton showing off his eggs.

Connor and Brooks at the top of the trail rolling their eggs.

Everyone getting ready for the Grand Finale!
When Chad and I get together with family, we basically play Aunt and Uncle. We love to see our nieces and nephews. I smile every time I see how cute and playful Chad is with kids! So, thanks to all our siblings for sharing your kids with us!
